Get to know OhmConnect

OhmConnect is a company committed to improving people's lives and promoting the health of the planet by changing the way people use energy.

They are a team of environmentalists, engineers, scientists and executives who work hard to help the world make the transition to a clean energy future.

How it works?

You will be rewarded for saving energy.

Did you know that there are peak times when energy requirements are high?

For example on weekdays.

Ohmconnect review dashboard

That makes sense if you think about it.

Most people are at home from work or school, and because they are at home, their energy consumption increases.

The energy suppliers prefer to pay the customers a reduction in their collective consumption than to put a power plant into operation.

If you are a PG & E, SCE, or SDG & E customer in California, you can use this service.

1. First you will be notified.

OhmConnect measures times with high power consumption (when many people use electricity) and notifies its users when these times occur. They send an email or text message a day in advance so that everyone knows when to save energy. This happens about once a week for just an hour.

2. Next you have the option to reduce your energy consumption.

You can do this in several ways that go far beyond just turning off your light.

This can include:

Give your thermostat a break Avoid using electronics Do not put the device into operation (e.g. dishwasher, etc.) Avoid using other energy vampires such as a washing machine, dryer, etc.

3. Finally, you will be rewarded.

If you have used less energy than forecast, you will be rewarded with cash payments and / or participation in a bi-weekly raffle during off-peak times.

Earn OhmConnect Rating Points

They also give away prices in summer and pay at the same time to save energy!

As you can see, it is really worth turning off the light and pulling the plug!

What happens at peak times?

As mentioned above, there are times when energy consumption is still high.

In this case, the energy company has to turn on its fast power plant to balance the system.

These fast-acting power plants are not good for the earth because they use fossil fuels inefficiently at 2 to 3 times the carbon emissions of a typical plant.

Earn Ohmconnect rating points

They are also expensive to operate.

So, your participation with OhmConnect means that you are not only paid to save energy, but also support the environment!

And the energy companies would prefer to pay you to turn on the fast-responding power plant, so it's kind of a win-win for everyone.

Make sense?

Can you personalize your experience with OhmConnect?

If you are unable to save energy when OhmConnect prompts you to do so, then this is not a problem. You can easily personalize your experience:

OhmConnect can also switch off your smart devices automatically, but this is not a requirement. You can set the hours you prefer to get #OhmHours and you will be reminded immediately before the start. You can also disable #OhmHour up to 15 minutes an hour.Once you've connected your power supply account, your savings will be measured based on the historical use of your smart meter. This shows me how much energy I've used this week compared to the previous week, along with trends indicating the times of day and season when I use the most energy, and more.

This works similar to OhmConnect.

You have an energy forecast.

If you use less energy than predicted, you will be rewarded with points!

So, on a basic level, Your energy forecast is an average of how much electricity you are likely to use in an ohm hour and is calculated using your historical smart meter data.
