Earning money with apps is one of the easiest ways to make money on your phone quickly and for free.

While they don't replace your full-time income, they can definitely help you buy a few extra meals a month.

Note that the following items in our list are ranked based on the following criteria:

20 highest paid apps to earn extra money online

Do you want to skip reviews and try the highest paid apps right away?

Absolutely no problem.

Here is a short list of the highest paid apps:

Survey Junkie (one of the highest paid survey apps) Swagbucks ($ 5 sign up bonus with lots of ways to earn online) LifePoints ($ 8 to $ 12 an hour for online surveys) Ibotta ($ 10 sign up bonus after scanning Your first receipt) TopCashback ($ 10 sign up bonus – buy cashback online) More below …

I've found that using just the apps listed above, I can earn at least a few extra hundred dollars a month.

With that said, let's start. Here is a list of the 20 highest paid apps for your smartphone.

1. Junkie survey

Survey Junkie is by far one of the highest paid apps on this list.

As the name suggests, you earn money with paid online surveys.

Every time you take a survey, you earn points that you can pay to Amazon and PayPal for PayPal money or free gift cards.

You can earn up to $ 50 per survey (though that's pretty rare).

With Survey Junkie, expect to earn between $ 10 and $ 20 an hour.

The best thing about Survey Junkie is that if you don't qualify for a survey, you'll be notified almost immediately so you can switch to another one to continue making money.

This is different than many other survey sites and survey apps that wait until you are almost done with a survey before actually telling you that you are of poor quality.

If you're looking for a great way to make money quickly, stay with Survey Junkie.

2. Swagbucks

Swagbucks is a small task site that you can use to make money doing things online that you would normally do anyway.

Every time you complete a task, you get points called Swagbucks that can be exchanged for an Amazon gift card and other cool prizes.

The great thing about this app is that there are so many different ways to make money:

Play Games Play Paid Surveys Fill Out Surveys Watch Videos Cut Out Coupons And more

One of the most popular ways to make money with Swagbucks is to watch videos.

Since the videos play automatically, you don't have to do any work to make free money.

The only downside is that the amount you can earn per day with this task is limited.

If you choose to only watch videos, keep in mind that you need to use a total of 5 Swagbucks apps to maximize your earnings.

That alone will get you about $ 30 a month. If you want to increase this amount, you also have to do other tasks.

Another great way to recommend a friend and get 10% of their income.

Swagbucks usually gives one $ 5 registration bonus, but we also saw it at $ 10.

Be sure to check out our Swagbucks review to find more ways to make money with this app.

3. LifePoints

LifePoints is one of the newer apps for making money, but don't let that fool you.

They are already proving to be one of the higher paid out there.

While surveys are the main way to make money with this app, you can also get paid for doing small tasks.

The best part? Almost all surveys take less than 10 minutes.

This means that you can quickly pull out your phone and get a job done when you're short on time (while waiting in line or in the waiting room).

You will receive a 5-point bonus and a 15% bonus when you register as a new user.

You need at least 1,080 points to withdraw a gift card of your choice from a wide range of retailers.

Our LifePoints test shows you exactly how to maximize revenue with these apps that make you money.

4. Ibotta

Registration bonus: $ 10 after scanning your first receipt. Join Ibotta

Ibotta is one of the most popular receipt scanning apps and offers a quick way to earn extra money.

Take a photo of your proof of purchase and earn between $ 0.25 and $ 5 in cash depending on the purchase.

Combine more than one offer per receipt and you can exceed this $ 5 threshold.

The great thing about Ibotta is that you get one $ 10 sign up bonus When you register, you request your first offer.

While Ibotta was originally intended for food, you can now get money back for other items like electronics, alcohol, recipes, restaurant meals, and more.

In addition, Ibotta recently added a new feature that allows you to get money back when shopping through other apps. When you open the app, there is an area where you can earn a certain percentage of cashback in certain stores.

Suppose you want to shop on Hotels.com.

Open the Ibotta app and scroll down. You will notice an offer for 10% cashback. Click the link to be redirected to the Hotels app on your phone (if you don't have it you will be asked to download it) and make a purchase.

You will receive 6% of your total purchase price in your Ibotta account within 10 days.

As soon as your account has reached a cashback of USD 20, you can withdraw gift cards of your choice or make direct deposits with PayPal.

From time to time, Ibotta releases new features that allow you to earn extra money on your phone. Be sure to read our Ibotta review to get updates.

5. TopCashBack

If you shop a lot online, this is the app for you.

TopCashBack has worked with thousands of online retailers and placed their affiliate links on a website.

If you click on one of these links, TopCashBack earns a small commission and then returns it to you in the form of cashback.

Expect around 7% cashback on all of your online purchases.

TopCashBack is most commonly known as a website, but you can also make money using the mobile app. Registration is absolutely free and you even get one $ 10 bonus Just to register as a new member.

As soon as you have earned at least $ 10 in cashback earned, you can withdraw a 3% payout bonus on PayPal or Amazon or Amex gift cards.

This is definitely one of my favorite cashback apps.

If you still don't know exactly how to make money with this app, you can read our TopCashback review.

6. Rakuten

Rakuten (formerly known as Ebates) is another shopping portal that works just like TopCashBack.

They work with thousands of retailers online and put all their partner links together on one page.

Every time you buy something through one of these links, Rakuten earns a commission and returns it to you in the form of cashback.

The prices are nowhere near as high as TopCashBack, but sometimes you can find shops that offer something more.

The only difference from this app is that it can be used in the store, one of the few cashback apps that you can do this with.

While the rate of shopping in-store is not very high at 1% – 2%, it is still better than nothing and can significantly increase your savings when buying really expensive items.

You will receive a $ 10 gift card to register as a new member.

Don't forget to read our full Rakuten review.

7. Acorns

Acorns is an investment app that allows you to invest your small change. Start with one $ 5 registration bonusand start investing in your equity portfolio at $ 5 each.

Not an investment expert? No problem. Acorns understand that it takes time to have sufficient knowledge, so they do all the work for you.

Simply register for the app, fill out your financial profile and Acorns will suggest what type of investment is right for you. If you are young and have saved a lot of extra money, you will most likely be included in the aggressive portfolio option.

For those who are a little older, Acorns will suggest a more conservative approach.

The best part?

You only need to invest $ 5 each, and unlike most brokerage firms, there is no commission. This is a great way for those to invest in their future.

They even have a replacement swap function that allows you to invest slowly.

Link one of your credit cards or debit cards and each of your purchases will be rounded up to the nearest dollar.

And don't worry – your credit card information is completely secure.

The difference between your purchase price and the rounded up part is automatically invested in your Acorns account – with no additional work for you.

8. Shop kick

Shopkick is a great way to make money while shopping. Share your location after installing the app and earn cash and gift cards when you check into stores.

You can also earn extra money by scanning the barcodes of certain products or using one of their in-app vouchers.

They are currently working with a variety of stores such as Walmart, Macy's and Best Buy and are continuously expanding.

Not only that, but you can also find great deals using the shopping system.

You don't earn much by scanning barcodes alone. For this reason, we usually recommend that you only use the check-in service.

You can easily get 0.25 cents or more per check-in and it only takes a second.

Until recently, you could also receive cash from scanning receipts.

I usually find that this is one of the most fun apps to make money with.

Don't forget to read our full Shopkick review to learn more.

9. Pine cone research

Pinecone Research is one of the best survey apps ever. You always know what you're getting paid for, and you always know roughly how long each survey will take.

Pinecone Research pays you a flat fee of $ 3 per survey. Each survey takes between 10 and 15 minutes.

At this rate, you essentially earn at a rate of $ 15 an hour. The disadvantage? There aren't that many surveys. I can usually do one or two surveys a month, and if I'm lucky, three.

Sometimes Pinecone Research doesn't accept new users. If this is the case for you, you should check in again in about a month. You can withdraw your earnings for gift cards of your choice.

The great thing about Pinecone Research is that you never have to sign up to see if new surveys are available as they always send you email notifications.

10. YouGov

YouGov is both a survey page and a survey app that lets you share your opinion.

In contrast to most survey apps, you have the opportunity to express your ideals in terms of politics and current events. You can also view other people's opinions on specific topics.

The fact that you can tune in and see what other people think about a particular topic makes this article one of the most interesting on our list.

You get one $ 2 bonus for registration as a new user. Although a minimum balance of $ 25 is required for withdrawal, I usually have no difficulty in reaching this amount fairly quickly.

11. Toluna opinions

The great thing about Toluna Opinions is that you're guaranteed to earn between $ 1 and $ 5 per survey. This is particularly good for those who are tired of getting poorly paid surveys and not earning much.

Toluna is definitely one of the better survey companies out there. Most survey pages are pretty short, and I think I can usually earn at least $ 10 an hour.

Although there is no registration bonus, you will not be disappointed. You have a variety of surveys to choose from. Check for new offers every few days.

12. Nielsen Computer & Mobile Panel

If you want to be paid for doing nothing, the Nielsen Computer & Mobile Panel pays you for simply leaving the app installed on your phone. Just use your phone as you normally would and earn free money.

The Nielsen app can pay you because it collects data about how you use your phone. This includes what apps you have installed, your internet speed, the type of your device, etc.

If you keep the app installed on your iOS or Android device for a whole year, you can earn enough points to make money $ 50 a year.

These points can be exchanged for prizes such as gift cards for popular retailers. You essentially earn a residual income because you don't have to do anything.

The best part?

You can install this app on unlimited devices and double, triple or even quadruple your earnings. This is a great way to earn extra income.

Nielsen only limits the number of devices per region, not the household.

You can also install this app on your desktop computer, but the earnings work a little differently.

For desktop users, you'll automatically be entered into a free raffle every month to earn up to $ 10,000.

If you like this app, you are also welcome to read about other passive income ideas and our Nielsen panel test.

13. MyPoints

Registration bonus: $ 10 if you earn your first $ 20 on MyPoints

What I love about MyPoints straight away is the high registration bonus. After you've earned your first $ 10, you'll get a $ 20 bonus.

Get paid with MyPoints by completing tasks that you are most likely to do on a daily basis: filling out surveys, shopping online, watching videos, conducting surveys and much more.

Assuming that you stick to the higher paying surveys, we estimate that you can earn at a rate of around $ 8-10 an hour. However, take the surveys with lower pay and this amount will be much lower.

MyPoints also has an excellent referral program. Earn a referral bonus when your friend signs up and earns the first $ 20.

14. Inbox dollar

Inbox Dollars is a small task site that resembles Swagbucks.

Make extra money by doing small tasks online, such as: For example, playing games, watching videos, shopping online, reading emails, recommending friends, or more.

You start with a big one $ 5 registration bonus and you need at least $ 25 to withdraw. Although this amount seems a bit high, I usually think that you can get it pretty quickly.

The two activities we recommend participating with Inbox Dollars are surveys and watching videos.

In this way, you can earn the largest amount of money with minimal effort.

Unfortunately, you have to click manually to play the next video so that you cannot earn passively.

For surveys, expect to earn around $ 10 an hour.

If you watch videos, the amount will be much less, but we recommend the task as it is so easy to do. Recommend your friends and get 10% of their income for life.

15. Get rewards

Fetch Rewards is a receipt scanning app that works just like Ibotta.

The only big difference between Ibotta and Fetch Rewards is that this app only pays you for photographing food receipts.

Unlike Ibotta, however, you can buy a product anywhere and make money back instead of having to buy a specific product in a particular store.

The reason why this app comes on the list is because of its high payouts. Expect to earn between $ 1 and $ 4 per offer. Increase this amount by having more than one offer per receipt.

You will need at least $ 3 in cashback earned to withdraw a gift card of your choice. If you register as a new user, you will receive one $ 1.50 bonus if you use the promo code HH3MN.

16. VIPKID

Are you looking for an app that can make you money?

VIPKID is the highest paid app on this list when it comes to earning potential, but it definitely takes the most effort.

Get paid to teach English to children around the world and earn somewhere in between $ 14- $ 22 an hour.

This is one of the few companies on our list with which you can earn a full-time income and start your own online business.

Here are the following requirements for potential teachers:

Eligibility to work in the U.S. or Canada undergraduate degree In every field 1 school year with traditional teaching experience or the equivalent in mentoring, tutoring or alternative education

The best thing is that you can choose your own hours.

Keep in mind that the majority of these children will live in China, which means that you may need to change your schedule a bit to accommodate them.

There are many people who make a living with VIPKID and can work anywhere in the world due to their high payout rate.

VIPKID pays you directly.

17. Paribus

It is terrible if you buy something in a store to find out a few days later that it is available at a cheaper price.

What's worse, if you don't figure it out early enough, you don't even have time to return the item to buy the cheaper version.

Let Paribus do it for you instead of taking the time to look for a cheaper price. Link your online shopping accounts to Paribus to track the internet at cheaper prices.

Even if you have already made the purchase, Paribus looks for the original retailer and asks the retailer to refund the difference.

For example, I linked my Amazon account and bought a book for around $ 12. Paribus found the book cheaper at another retailer and contacted Amazon on my behalf. Within a week of the purchase, I noticed a random email saying that a few dollars had been returned to my account.

The catch? Paribus receives a small percentage of your refund. However, if you recommend enough friends, you can reduce this amount to zero so that you get 100% of the difference.

18. BeFrugal

BeFrugal and TopCashBack are so similar that it is almost impossible to place one in front of the other. BeFrugal is also a shopping portal that pays you for clicking and buying through affiliate links on their website. The more you shop online, the more you earn.

On average, you will receive around 7% cashback on all purchases. I personally find TopCashBack a little easier to use, but most of the time the prices are the same, so it is best to check between the two before each purchase.

BeFrugal also gives one $ 10 sign up bonus to new members.

The only big difference that people can turn away is that you need at least $ 25 to withdraw your money. However, BeFrugal promises to give cashback bonuses within 10 days of purchase, while TopCashBack can sometimes take a little longer.

Read our full BeFrugal report

19.Cash desk 51

Checkout 51 works very similar to Ibotta. They pay you money for taking a photo of your receipt and sending it to the app.

Unlike Ibotta, however, it doesn't matter where you buy the item as long as it appears on your receipt.

This means that you can shop in a grocery, retail store, or whatever.

Most of the items you find in the app are groceries, but there are some exceptions every now and then. The payout is not that high and usually only gives $ 0.25 to $ 1 per item, but the workload is quite light.

Note that you can stack this app with other receipt scanning apps. This means that you can use multiple apps with the same receipt.

Want to make even more money with Checkout 51? Earn a $ 10 bonus every time you recommend a friend.

For more information, see our full Checkout 51 test.

20. SavvyConnect

SavvyConnect works similarly to the Nielsen Computer & Mobile Panel app. You will be paid to keep an app installed on your mobile device and paid to use it as you normally would. There is absolutely no work required on your part.

Every month when you leave the SavvyConnect app on your phone, you earn $ 5. Calculate this and you will get a total of $ 60 / year.

Increase your earnings by installing the SavvyConnect app on a maximum of 3 devices for a total of $ 15 / month or $ 180 / year. The best thing is that all of this is essentially residual income, as all you have to do is leave the app installed and pay off.

They also give you the opportunity to increase your income by recommending your friends. When your friend logs in via your link and completes their first “project,” you will earn between $ 5 and $ 15. You can also make money from your friends' recommendations.

What should I look for in apps with the highest payments?

There are certain criteria you should look for when looking for the highest paid apps for your smartphone.

Note that each app can meet each person's needs differently.

Withdrawal method

Typically, apps have at least some payment methods.

Usually an app pays you via PayPal or at least some gift cards of your choice.

However, sometimes there is only one method. If they only pay you gift cards to Fred Meyer and you never shop there, it may not be worth your time.

Hourly rate

The hourly rate is calculated by counting how much you earn in one hour.

It is important to keep an eye on this information as it sometimes looks like you are earning a lot less than you really are and vice versa.

You should try to prioritize the apps with the highest hourly rates.

Registration bonuses

Registration bonuses are a great incentive to start with any app.

Even if you don't like the app in the end, you have earned at least a few dollars for free without having to work. Swagbucks for example gives you one $ 5 bonus just to sign up.

Referral programs

Referral programs are one of the easiest ways to make money with apps. A quick post on Facebook or Twitter usually only takes a few seconds.

If you have a few hundred friends, you may be able to sign up a few times and earn a few dollars more here and there. Sometimes there are percentage bonuses.

For example, some apps give you 10% of your friends' income for life.

user friendliness

Although the apps on this list are great, they can be a little boring at times. This is especially the case after long use.

Remember how frustrating it can be to use the app. If it's easy and you can make good money, it may be worth keeping it.

Beware of fraud

All of the money apps listed here are real and will pay you real money. However, sometimes you may come across a scam.

Unless you know it's a legitimate appNever log in when asked for your credit card or other payment information.

Also note the personal data that you must provide when registering.

Which apps pay you the most money?

Survey Junkie, Swagbucks and VIPKID are the apps with which you can pay the most money in no time. However, we recommend trying all the apps in this list to determine which ones are best for you.

Final thoughts

If you want to make extra money from home, smartphone apps are a great way to do it. They are also great for getting so much closer to your personal financial goals.

While these apps are unlikely to make you rich, this is still a great way to make real money and earn extra income
